Computer Generated Visual Effects

In the last couple of years, visual effects and computer generated imagery has come a long way. A few years ago, some of these videos would never have been possible. Such as Narnia, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Transformers ect...

Here is a video that I thought was neat in the regards to visual effects.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did!

  1. WOW! It's really amazing that all the major buildings are green screen. Some of it I think may be overkill though. Do you really need to green screen people into the background that you could have filmed there in the first place? Either way, the effects that they used were very cool, especially the scene of the battle on sea!

  2. Yeah, I agree. It would of have just been easier to film the extra people in the scene then green screen them.

However, from a production stand point, it was probably faster and cheaper for the company to create animated people and green screen people then hire all of those extras.

  3. I can see it now. A decade from now, lighting and camera shots will be foreign concepts in filming, because the entire film is done on the computer! (also, for those that have seen the movie Tron Legacy, the bad guy was completely CGI) What is the world coming to?!
